Bird a Day

Now, less of an everyday thing, and more of a whenever-I-get-around-to-it thing.

Bali Starling
Also known as the Bali Mynah, this bird only lives on the island of Bali (surprise!). Because of this, it is considered critically endangered because of the caged birds black market, with less than 500 individuals in the wild in the 1980s. Their numbers decreased even more, despite breeding and release programs, and today they hover closely to the extinction mark.
